Brand-new in 2020, the Galveston Island Convention and Visitors Bureau in partnership with United Way commissioned this mural at the Stewart Beach Pavilion. Step up under the wing of the pelican on your next visit to Galveston Island.
One of the most iconic locations in Galveston to impress your Instagram followers in inside Moody Gardens Aquarium Tunnel. Take your time and wait for a shark to swim overhead for even more likes!
Galveston's grandest and best-known building, the Bishop's Palace, is an ornate delight of colored stone, intricately carved ornaments, rare woods, stained-glass windows, bronze dragons and other sculptures that are sure to impress your followers.
Located on the side wall of Yaga’s Café in Saengerfest Park, this postcard mural is perfect for Instagram. While you’re on The Strand taking this perfect selfie, play a game of giant chess or grab a beverage at Stuttgarden Tavern’s 3rd Floor terrace.
Take a stroll down Postoffice Street and you will find a mural brought to the community by an organization called the Galveston Kindness Project. This group is dedicated to spreading kindness as an action, instead of just as a nice word or thought. Our favorite photo op here is the umbrella, but we’ll let you choose yours!
One of our favorite murals is clearly visible from Seawall Blvd and takes the form of a full-length sea turtle mural. Painted by island local Gabriel Prusmack & unveiled in 2017 by the Turtle Island Restoration Network and NOAA’a Flower Garden Bank National Marine Sanctuary, this 3D mural is something to behold!
This hidden gem is well worth a visit for their food alone, but while you’re there snag a few pictures in front of their colorful, geometric mural wall right outside!
Also located on The Strand, this mural is too good to not be shared! Spanning the entire side of Shark Shack Beach Bar & Grill, this is a perfect photo op if you truly #LoveGalveston.
Popular for wedding, engagement and family photos, Beachtown is one of the most picturesque towns on the island. To really step your Instagram feed up, consider hiring a local photographer to snap photos of you and your family.
As always, when sharing your experiences on Galveston Island, use #LoveGalveston and tag @GalvestonIsland!
