Galveston’s Historic Downtown Trolleys offer a unique out-of-home advertising opportunity that puts your brand in front of millions of locals and visitors each year. Traveling through Historic Downtown and connecting to the Seawall, the trolleys provide repeated exposure where people shop, dine, explore, and spend time.

The Seawall sees more than 2.6 million vehicles annually — a figure that does not include the many people walking, jogging, cycling, and enjoying the Seawall each day. Historic Downtown and the Historic Strand Seaport welcomed more than 2.1 million visitors during the past year.

Connecting these two major visitor areas, the Downtown Trolley gives advertisers consistent visibility along one of Galveston’s most traveled routes.

Historic Downtown Trolleys

Two steel-wheel trolleys provide valuable exposure on one of four exterior billboards on each vehicle.

Seawall Advertising Options

With 16 trolley stops between Stewart Beach to the east and Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn to the west, the Seawall trolley route places your message in front of the largest audience Galveston has to offer. The East End of Galveston saw 2.7 million visitors this past year, followed by Midtown at 2.3 million, and West Seawall Blvd. at 2.2 million.*

Traffic Counts

On average, TxDOT annually collects 82,000 short-term traffic volume counts and around 1,000 vehicle classification counts. Augmented by over 300 permanent traffic counters that collect data 24 hours per day, 365 days per year, these short-term counts help determining the Annual Average Daily Traffic (AADT) numbers by location.
