The magnificent 1893 League-Kempner House is one of the few remaining "Broadway Beauties" in Galveston, Texas. After years of neglect, this amazing house was at risk of collapse and was placed on the Galveston Historical Foundations Heritage at Risk List.

Bought by a private owner in 2021, in 2022 the house was converted to a non profit to ensure that it can be preserved for future generations. This once abandoned Victorian mansion is undergoing a massive restoration. Designed by noted architect Nicholas Clayton, this Galveston historical treasure is slowly coming back to life.

The house is an active construction site but self-guided or docent led tours are available on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday from 10:am - 3:00 pm as work permits. Due to construction, the house may not always be open. Be sure to check our website before making a special trip to Galveston. If you are here and see the open sign out front, stop in and check us out.
