Bleu Sucré French Bakery by the Sea
A French Bakery With Real Roots
Bring a taste of the French Riviera to Galveston’s East End at Bleu Sucré French Bakery by the Sea. Owner Karine Couture, a native of Nice, France, opened the bakery in May 2026, bringing authentic French flavors and techniques to the island.
Each morning, Couture and her team of classically trained chefs prepare artisan pastries from scratch using traditional French baking methods. Guests can enjoy buttery croissants, flaky pain au chocolat, almond pastries, and other freshly baked specialties straight from the ovens beginning at 6:30 a.m.
The menu extends beyond the pastry case with savory favorites including French onion soup, sandwiches, espresso drinks, coffee, and teas — making Bleu Sucré an ideal stop for breakfast, brunch, or a leisurely café lunch.
Located in the heart of Galveston’s historic East End, the bakery occupies the former PattyCakes Bakery space across from the longtime Mosquito Café location. Surrounded by tree-lined streets and historic homes, the neighborhood is one of the island’s most walkable areas and perfect for exploring before or after your visit.
Whether you’re craving a classic French pastry or a cozy café experience, Bleu Sucré French Bakery by the Sea delivers a charming slice of France on the Texas coast.
