Brett Milutin was named Executive Deputy Port Director in January 2021 after serving in key roles at the Port of Galveston, including Director of Port Operations, Harbormaster, and Facilities Security Officer; he began his career with the Port of Galveston Police Department in 2001. He represents Galveston County in several roles, including Grantee for Foreign Trade-Zone No. 36 and liaison to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and participates in maritime groups such as the U.S. Coast Guard’s Port Coordination Team and the Greater Houston Port Bureau. Milutin has received two U.S. Coast Guard Public Service Commendations for his work during Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 cruise shutdown, and he holds an Associate of Science in Criminal Justice, a Master Peace Officer’s license, and was named Police Officer of the Year in 2006.
