Guests can look forward to vendors, film, music, raffles, and more.
“Fly fishing is a very popular sport and we are thrilled to host this event for a second year in a row,” stated Moody Gardens CEO & President John Zendt, who added, “Our state-of-the-art theater provides a fantastic viewing experience for the spectacular beauty and challenge featured in the film, while also supporting our mission of conservation.”
Guests can choose from two evening events on Friday, Feb. 24, or Saturday, Feb. 25 scheduled from 6 p.m. to midnight. The evening will begin with a social where guests can enjoy a cash bar and taco bar, explore vendor booths and see the latest gear and technologies, skiffs and leisure watercraft. The film screening is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. with an animal presentation during intermission from Moody Gardens biologists followed by raffle drawings. The night continues with an afterparty from 10 p.m. to midnight with larger raffle prizes to conclude the event.
Learn how to fly fish with Captain Stacy Lynn before the event. Classes will be offered Friday, Feb. 24, and Saturday, Feb. 25 at 3 p.m. for only $15 a person at the Oleander Bowl at Moody Gardens. Limited spots are available and participants must be 12 years or older to participate with an adult present for those 16 years or younger.
Individuals can purchase tickets for $15 per person or a $4 reservation fee for Moody Gardens members. The reservation fee benefits the Moody Gardens Conservation Fund. Raffle tickets can also be purchased online for $5 each or $20 for 5 tickets. Additional raffle tickets can be purchased at the event with all proceeds being donated to the Moody Gardens Conservation Fund. Hotel packages are available for Friday or Saturday evening featuring a spectacular room for two at the Moody Gardens Hotel, two tickets to the film screening, breakfast for two, and admission for two to the Rainforest Pyramid starting at $265.
