Surge Forward Wetland Walk at East End Lagoon
Spend a morning connecting with nature and learning about Galveston Island's coastal environment at the Surge Forward Wetland Walk! Join the SurgeForward Coalition on Saturday, October 24, 2026, for an outdoor experience at East End Lagoon Nature Preserve near East Beach.
Taking place from 9 AM to 12 PM, this community event invites participants to discover the importance of coastal wetlands and their role in protecting communities. Enjoy a guided wetland walk while learning about the area's unique ecology and the natural benefits these habitats provide.

Presented in partnership with Turtle Island Restoration Network, the Coalition for Environment, Equity, and Resilience (CEER), and Bayou City Waterkeeper, the Surge Forward Wetland Walk is an opportunity to experience Galveston's natural landscapes while supporting a more resilient coast.
