Sarah Golden and Susan Gibson in Concert at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Galveston
Galveston Folk Family Concerts is a listening room for acoustic, original music of singer songwriters. On May 16, 2026, both Sarah Golden and Susan Gibson will be performing with Krista Gene opening. Concert at 7 pm, doors open 6 pm.
Houston native, Sarah Golden, is a folk singer-songwriter whose rich vocals, soulful storytelling, and heartfelt performances have captivated audiences since the release of her debut album, Truth, in 2002, which earned her a spot as a Kerrville New Folk finalist. Since then, Golden has gone on to become a top contender on NBC's The Voice, America's Got Talent, and earned multiple awards and nominations, including the 2025 InterContinental Music Awards' Best of North America, for her song, "Who is Gonna Rebuild LA?". Her forthcoming full-length album, Live Wire, will highlight her sociopolitical activism and human rights advocacy and is slated for launch in early 2026.
Susan Gibson knows all about blessings. Roundabout 28 years ago, she wrote herself a wish that grew up and went off on its own to become one of the biggest country songs of all time. Smiling at its success from afar, Gibson went on to happily live her own best life, free to hit the open road with a van full of happy dogs and a heart full of songs to share with attentive audiences across the country — and all the room in the world to "make the big mistakes" that a wide-eyed dreamer kinda gal could ever ask for.
