Sandy Beaches Activity and Discussion with Surfrider Foundation
Free and open to the public. Please RSVP at our link to help with headcount for light bites. Surfrider Foundation hosts meetings and events throughout the year open to the public to talk about the protection and enjoyment of waves, oceans, and beaches. At this event, we'll have 4 amazing guest speakers from TAMUG talk about their research of sandy beaches and the social implications for coastal resilience here on our island. This will be fun in the sand with some activities and a great presentation by a knowledgeable science team.
Faculty and researchers from TAMUG will present: 'More Than Just Sand: The Secret Life and Value of Sandy Beaches.' Starting with an interactive event on the beach and then food back at Beerfoot for a talk about coastal resilience.
