Come From Away at Island East-End Theatre Company

Island ETC is proud and privileged to open our 24th season with the critically acclaimed musical COME FROM AWAY. This enduring, relevant script and deeply moving score by Irene Sankoff and David Hein has cemented itself as a new classic, touching the hearts of audiences around the world.

Performances will continue through August 15. Performances are Thursday, Friday, and Saturday evenings at 8:00 pm. There will also be two Sunday matinees on July 26 and August 2 at 2:30 pm.

On September 11, 2001, 38 planes were diverted to the small town of Gander, Newfoundland, doubling its population overnight. As fear and confusion spread, the people of Gander welcomed 7,000 stranded travelers with open arms, shelter, and compassion. Undaunted by culture clashes and language barriers, the people of Gander welcomed the stranded travelers with music, an open bar, and the recognition that we are all part of a global family. COME FROM AWAY tells the inspiring true story of how generosity, hope, and human connection helped thousands of strangers find community when they needed it most. This breath-taking musical blend humor, heart, and soaring music to tell a story of resilience and humanity. It’s a celebration of what happens when people choose kindness in the face of tragedy.

All cast members play multiple roles as they bring to life this awesome musical. ETC cast members are Rocky Banks, Cameron Dunbar, Justin Gonzalez, Sarah Hames, Cailin Heffernan, Candy Howard, Greyson Kethan, Ava Moore, Matt Poole, Joe Stanfield, Stephanie Welder, and Whitney Williams-Powell.

Directed by Kim Mytelka with musical direction by Henry Aronson and choreography and staging by Jennifer Daugherty, COME FROM AWAY promises to be one of the best musical experiences you have ever seen.
