Candles & Ghosts: Candle Making and Historic Ghost Walk
Spend an October evening discovering a more mysterious side of Galveston at Candles & Ghosts, a candle-making experience paired with a guided walk through the island's haunted history. The event takes place Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
The evening begins at The Chandlery Candle Bar, where guests will create their own 7-ounce Petite candle. Choose a custom fragrance, add candle embellishments and enjoy a glass of wine or a non-alcoholic beverage while creating your candle. Upgrades will also be available.
As evening settles over The Strand, head outside for a guided historic ghost walk led by local historian, author and paranormal investigator Kathleen Maca. Along the way, hear stories about Galveston's past, legendary residents and the spirits said to linger among the historic buildings. The experience combines local history with a touch of the paranormal, offering a memorable way to experience Downtown Galveston during spooky season.
After the tour, return to pick up your finished candle to take home as a keepsake from the evening.
Space is limited and advance registration is required. Admission includes the Petite candle and custom fragrance, candle embellishments, guided historic ghost walk and one glass of wine or a non-alcoholic beverage.
