Artful, interesting and activity-oriented — that’s Galveston’s ARToberFEST. It’s our premier juried art festival, showcasing the works of over 120 U.S. artists and presented by The Grand 1894 Opera House.

ARToberFEST offers attendees the opportunity to view artwork up close and personal. See the brush strokes on a landscape painting; examine the silky feel of a scarf; feel the rough edge of a ceramic vase. If you’ve ever wondered how an artist paints a portrait or builds a clay pot, you can learn how here. Meet artists and watch their demonstrations.
Take your time at ARToberFEST and enjoy yourself in Galveston’s lovely fall weather. Here’s the chance to stroll past the historic architecture of the historic downtown district (Post Office Street between 20th and 23rd), listen to live music, and enjoy the island’s food and beverage treats.
