5th Annual Island Boo Fest
Celebrate Halloween on Galveston Island with costumes, candy and decorated golf carts at Island BooFest 2026. Hosted by the Galveston Golf Cart Society, this family-friendly Halloween tradition returns to Saengerfest Park in Downtown Galveston on Saturday, October 31, from 4 to 6 p.m.
Families can make their way through a festive golf cart trunk-or-treat featuring creatively decorated carts and plenty of Halloween candy. Costumes are encouraged, and prizes will be awarded for some of the best looks. Music and family-friendly activities will add to the Halloween celebration in the heart of Galveston's historic downtown.
Admission to Island BooFest is free, making it an easy addition to a Halloween visit to the island. Children and adults are welcome to dress as their favorite characters, ghosts, goblins or other Halloween creations and join the fun.
Those who want to take part in the trunk-or-treat can decorate a golf cart and join the lineup. Registration is $35 per golf cart. Participating carts will help hand out candy and create the Halloween experience for attending families.
