Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier
Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier
Galveston’s historic amusement pier brings rides, games, dining, and Gulf Coast views to the Seawall.
Stretching over the Gulf coast along Seawall Boulevard, Galveston Island Historic Pleasure Pier combines classic boardwalk energy with modern attractions. The pier features thrill rides, family rides, midway games, food stands, and waterfront dining, all set above the water with sweeping coastal views
The original Pleasure Pier opened in the 1940s and became a well-known gathering place for entertainment and dancing before Hurricane Carla destroyed much of the structure in 1961. The current pier reopened in 2012, continuing the site’s connection to Galveston’s waterfront history and tourism culture.
