The Pajama Game at Island East-End Theatre Company
Island ETC (East-End Theatre Company), the region’s premier semiprofessional theatre company, is proud to present the beloved Broadway musical THE PAJAMA GAME.
Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical THE PAJAMA GAME has a book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell and music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross. The musical is based on the novel “7 ½ Cents” by Richard Bissell.
THE PAJAMA GAME is a lively romantic comedy set in a 1950s pajama factory, where sparks fly between management and labor during a heated dispute over a seven-and-a-half cent wage increase. As tensions rise on the factory floor, so does the relationship between new superintendent Sid Sorokin (Jeffrey Slater) and union grievance committee head Babe Williams (Stephanie Welder) – putting love squarely in the middle of workplace politics.
Featuring energetic dance numbers, witty humor, and an unforgettable score. THE PAJAMA GAME includes classic songs such as “Steam Heat,” “Hey There,” and “Hernando’s Hideaway.” This production will feature a talented cast which includes Johnny De La Cerda, Hayden Hardcastle, Cailin Heffernan, Candy Howard, Amada Hovey, Felicia McClellan, Ava Moore, Addison Morris, Amanda Mutz, Lucio Nieto, Alex Petty, Matt Poole, Joe Stanfield, TC Cleveland, TJ Webb, Erin Young as well as Slatter and Welder.
“This show is a joyful celebration of community collaboration, and standing up for what you believe in,” says director Kim Mytelka. “It’s packed with humor and heart.” Audiences can expect dazzling choreography by Jennifer Daugherty and a live orchestra under the direction of Henry Aronson.
Tickets for this delightful musical are $40.00 for adults and $35.00 for students and senior citizen. Group rates are available for groups of ten or more.
Join us for a toe-tapping, laugh-filled night at the factory – where the pajamas are plentiful, the music is irresistible, and love may just win the day!
