The Ghostly Feather - Augmented Reality Experience
The Ghostly Father, an Augmented Reality experience, at the Galveston Railroad Museum the weekend of September 26 and again the weekend of October 10 is an immersive multi- disciplinary project developed by the faculty in the College of Performance, Visualization &Fine Arts of Texas A&M University. Visitors will experience historical elements of the 1920’s and Galveston aboard three interconnected railcars at the museum. Audience members wear Augmented Reality devices to visualize virtual ‘holograms’ as they experience a live performance centered around a fictitious Galveston family that is well connected with the entertainment business – specifically, train crashing. As guests of the family, the audience members will work to unravel the mystery of a legendary and mystical visitor appears - a mix of Mexican folklore, theater and technology - and how to escape a deadly situation.
