Galveston Symphony Orchestra Masterworks I: Resonance & Redemption
We’re thrilled to kick off our 47th season with an electrifying celebration of percussion! Feel the earth shake as kettle drums thunder through Rameau’s revolutionary Nais Overture — and brace yourself for even more rhythmic power with Ring Shout Concerto for Percussion and Orchestra by Galveston’s own Frederic C. Tillis, featuring the phenomenal Quincy Davis, acclaimed drummer and UNT Professor of Jazz Studies.
This powerful work has never before been performed in Texas — don’t miss this historic premiere! We’ll close the evening with Bizet’s delightfully lyrical Symphony in C, a youthful masterpiece written at just 17, lost to the world for decades, and rediscovered to remind us all that brilliance endures.
