Dolphin Day @ The Texas Surf Museum
This upcoming March 14th and through ArtWalk, the Texas Surf Museum will give our space to The Texas Marine Mammal Stranding Network.
The TMMSN is a critical nonprofit rescuing, rehabilitating, and studying whales and dolphins along the Texas coast.
This March 14th, they’ll be bringing Art made by dolphins PLUS carcasses and research objects that explain more of their hard work and dedication to our Texas coast.
It’s important to know that marine mammals are the canaries in the coal mine of the ocean, because their health directly reflects the health of our waters.
Since dolphins share the same environment and eat many of the same fish as humans, the TMMSN acts as an early warning system for disease outbreaks, environmental toxins, monitoring harmful algal blooms, and chemical pollutants.
Without the TMMSN, stranded animals would have no medical recourse.
So come into the Museum on this day and learn how you can support, volunteer, and take care of Marine Mammals along our Texas coast.
