Three Days of Storytelling, Soul & Song in Historic Downtown Galveston

The Old Quarter and ARTS Downtown proudly present the 2nd Annual Old Quarter Songwriter Festival, November 12–14, 2026! Experience three unforgettable days of live music, heartfelt storytelling, and soulful performances in Historic Downtown Galveston.

The Old Quarter Songwriter Festival brings music lovers together for a weekend celebrating the art of songwriting. Set in an intimate listening-room atmosphere, the festival puts meaningful lyrics, acoustic melodies, and authentic storytelling in the spotlight. From longtime Texas folk fans to first-time listeners, attendees can enjoy heartfelt performances and connect through a shared love of live music.

Three Days of Live Music & Songwriting
Thursday, November 12 – Opening Night

Kick off the festival with an open mic night at Old Quarter Acoustic Café from 7–11 p.m., or head to Naked Iguana Brewery for performances by Loteria and Midnight River Choir.

Three Days of Live Music & Songwriting
Friday, November 13 – Songwriter Workshop & Evening Shows

Explore the creative side of music with a songwriter workshop led by Susan Gibson from 1–5 p.m. at Old Quarter Acoustic Café. Evening performances begin at 8 p.m. across both venues, featuring Scott Miller, Lily Dabbs, Juliet McConkey, The Mighty Orq, and more.

Three Days of Live Music & Songwriting
Saturday, November 14 – All-Day Music & Festival Finale

Enjoy a full day of live music beginning at noon, with performances by Boomershack, Harbors Over Highways, Heather Little, Charlie Mars, Jason Eady, and other talented artists. The festival concludes with a special performance by Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock from 10:15–11:30 p.m.

Will food & drink be served?

Food is not served, but beer and wine are served. You can bring your own bottle, but you will be charged a corkage fee of $15, and $2 for set-ups.

Listening Room etiquette

The Old Quarter is considered a “Listening Room”. Please refrain from yelling out to the artist between songs and during and silence your cell phone. This is out of respect for the artist and other patrons watching the show.
