Artist Boat is an organization dedicated to the preservation of marine environments. They aim to promote awareness of coastal margins and the marine environment through the arts and science. Artist Boat also includes connecting people to the Gulf Coast environments through mind-opening experiences and expanding engagement and interest in preservation in their mission. Beautify the Bucket Art Contest (Registration closes May 1, 2025)

Adopt a blue trash barrel and turn it into a piece of ocean-themed art to help promote beach conservation. While paint and supplies are not included, your participation supports educational outreach and beautifies Galveston’s beaches. Sign up to participate!

Bucket Brigade Interpretive Beach Tours (Saturdays & Sundays, May 24 – Sept. 1, 2025)

American Canoe Association Kayak Instructor Course (May 27–29, 2025)

Join ACA Instructor Trainer Jeff Atkins for a Level 1/2 Instructor Development Workshop at the Coastal Heritage Preserve. Participants will develop demonstration-quality paddling skills, safety techniques, and instructional strategies, with the opportunity to earn ACA instructor certification. Learn more and register!
