Robert Kuhn, known as GALVEZTON, is part of Galveston Island’s creative fabric. His music and writing reflect years of travel, but always circle back to the Texas coast.

After time abroad, Kuhn returned home and built a sound that’s hard to pin down, shaped by folk roots and lived experience. The name GALVEZTON itself points to the island and the local scene that continues to influence his work.

He’s also behind La Izquierda, a Galveston surf and music gathering that brings people together around art, music, and the Gulf. This is a look at how place and community shape one local artist.
