About The Facility

Located on Galveston's famous Seawall Boulevard, this 140,000 square-foot property combines executive conference facilities with luxurious amenities. With breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico, you’ll find a column-free, 43,100-square-foot exhibition hall; a 15,500-square-foot grand ballroom; 12,000 square feet of breakout meeting space; and 29,000 square feet of pre-function space. More than 700 guest rooms are adjacent to the center and another 1,400 are located within two miles. The convention center offers wireless Internet and complimentary shuttle service to/from contracted hotels plus parking on site.

Recycling

Help reduce waste by recycling paper, plastic and aluminum products! Recycling collection containers are located in the following areas of the GICC:

Standard Procedures

• Turn off lighting and air conditioning when rooms are not in use
• Default double-sided printing and copying
• Alternatives to bottled water available in meeting rooms
• Two options for leftover food: Donate to Galveston Food

Purchasing Policy

• Buy chemical-free, non-toxic, biodegradable cleaning agents
• Buy environmentally friendly products and solutions to eliminate the use of hazardous materials, pesticides and herbicides
• Use suppliers who source products with little or no packaging
  
  

Meeting Planner Tip Sheet:

• Use electronic registration when possible
• Email registration confirmations
• Collect plastic nametag holders for reuse
• Encourage speakers to provide electronic copies of presentation handouts and post them on the website
• Ask exhibitors not to send too many brochures to avoid waste at the end
• Inform speakers in advance about the number of attendees for any needed presentation handouts or give-a-ways

Exhibitor General Information

1. All Exhibit load-in and load-out is done through loading dock entrances. Main entrances and guest elevators are not available for exhibit load-in or load-out.
2. Parking on the loading dock is restricted to 20 minutes during the load-in and load-out process. If loading-in, please park the vehicle in the parking garage after load-in.
3. All decorations, signs, banners, etc., may not be taped, nailed, or otherwise attached to any ceiling, window, painted surface, or wall of the facility. Both the Show Manager and the Event Coordinator must approve the location and method of installation of any special decorations or signs.
4. No animals or pets are permitted in the facility except as an approved exhibit, activity or performance requiring the use of animals. Guide dogs are permitted at all times.
5. The use of helium and helium balloons is prohibited in the facility. Adhesive-backed decals are not permitted to be distributed or used inside the facility, or in the immediate vicinity.
6. All food, alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages, and concessions are operated and controlled exclusively by the Galveston Island Convention Center. Outside food is not allowed into the convention center.
7. Exhibitors are allowed to bring in their own power strips/extension cords.
8. Wireless internet is complimentary for all exhibitors. Please see show management for a passcode.
9. Federal Express and UPS do not have daily pick-ups at the Galveston Island Convention Center. Please schedule a pick-up directly if needed.
10. Parking in the parking garage is complimentary
