Save The Theater: Discussion and Open House

The Galveston Scottish Rite Cathedral needs your help! GTAP has been proud to call this building home since its induction. Part of our mission has always been to utilize its historically recognized vaudeville-era theatre and exhibition halls to bring public education, event space, and various creative performances. Unfortunately, this beautiful building is now in need of repair.

During Hurricane Harvey, the fly galley was significantly damaged due to wind speeds that exceeded 100mph. The walls need to be repaired and sealed, and the bespoke hand-painted scenery drops that it housed must be professionally removed and restored.
This is no simple task. We want to preserve this building for years to come and are asking for your help in doing so. We are trying to raise as much as possible so that the necessary repairs can be made.

This event is free and open to the public. We want to share with you the potential community impact this architectural masterpiece can have on the island for events. If you have never toured the Cathedral, this is your opportunity!
